Definition of Pick & Place<\/strong><\/h3>

Pick and Place refers to the process of removing a part in one place and setting it down again in another place. Production and packaging processes require a large number of such operations and are therefore ideally suited for automation using Pick & Place robots.<\/p>

How a Pick-and-Place robot works<\/strong><\/h3>

A robot, or applicator, takes over the tasks of “picking thing up and setting them down” during production and packaging processes. The robot either works fully automatically and takes over the task completely or works as a so-called “cobot” together with humans on a work step.
The activities that are taken over with the help of Pick & Place are usually highly repetitive, difficult, high-risk or even dangerous activities. By robots, for example, lifting heavy parts, transporting and packaging products or carrying out work steps independently, employees are relieved of these activities.<\/p>
