This system allows medium- to large-sized cylindrical aluminium bars to be checked using an ultrasound immersion technique for fine surface cracks and internal errors (minor flaws, shrinkage cavities, bullet holes).
The following process steps are carried out automatically in this case: Workpiece coating (raising and lowering) into and out of the system; Workpiece handling (holding, lowering into the testing tank and lifting back up; ultrasound testing of the workpiece; applying goods labelling with the workpiece approval.
The machine is used for detecting fine cracks in cylindrical automotive parts via ultrasound testing technology. Here: Testing of steering rods. When the corresponding conversion is applied, the machine can be used to test tubular or rod-like workpieces.
